BLUHAZL HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE
Be the change you wish to see in the world. - Ghandi
'Tis the season!
December 17, 2016 my sister and I, with the help of the amazing SHAQ-A-CLAUS, held a holiday toy drive for the Gardner CAC, our hometown. We wanted to pay it foward this holiday season and so we did. [set goals + achieve them] I must say, this past Saturday's toy drive was the most REWARDING DAY EVER.
It's always good to take some time to sit and reflect and on this chilly, dark sunday I did just that. As i look outside of my hotel window in boston, i realize how thankful i truly am for my sister, my family, my man, and my team whom is always there supporting me and dealing with my crazy [at least i can admit my crazy]. To have so many people support our holiday drive in Gardner, Ma was such an indescribable feeling. From the volunteers who put the bikes together, to the woman i called two months ago and said hi, I would like to adopt 400 kids from the cac this holiday season, thank you for this life changing opportunity. She told me yesterday, she thought it was a hoax with all the fraud going on in the world and i told her this, " Your organization helped my family 13 years ago when we were in need, so we just want to pay it forward."
It was truly a blessing to see so many eyes of children light up when they received their gifts, or when shaquille would pick them up and giggle. Watching their parents cry tears of joy and seeing them all smile from ear to ear, made our holiday complete. In this social media day of age, it's not about what you have, it's about what you give. When i told shaquille my sister and i were going to adopt 30 children for the holidays, he looked at me and said no - we are helping them all. This man is more than what you see, he's a blessing to so many and he does it with such humility. Shaq-a-claus we love you and you forever inspire me. Again, thank you to everyone who made this day possible, we are forever thankful. [blessings on blessings!]
Life always comes full circle and we are forever grateful to share this incredible moment with our family and loved ones. Spread love, spread joy, and spread cheer this holiday season. 🎄
