ESSENTIALS: Lemon, Matcha, Turmeric, Coconut Oil

The sun is finally shining and I am so darn happy! New York City, spring is FINALLY here. I am going to show you the perfect healing GREEN TURMERIC LEMONADE whose benefits will benefit you all season long. This essential superfood drink is the perfect addition to help kickstart your summer. So, let me break it down for you..........

LEMON

Drinking lemon water in the morning helps stimulate bile production because it mimics the body's digestive juices. Lemon water also helps detoxify your system while providing you with vitamins and minerals.

MATCHA

Match is a very powerful superfood that provides the body with a very large dose of antioxidants called catechins, which counteract pollutants and radiation. Matcha boosts your energy and is an anti-inflammatory. MATCHA is always an essential.

TURMERIC

Turmeric is another powerful antioxidant and anti- inflammatory! Turmeric contains curcuminoids that have been shown to prevent diseases such as cancer, depression, and Alzheimer's! Whoa! talk about a super power! Turmeric also helps improve your blood sugar levels and can help detoxify your system and clear that skin! hmm Let's move this up to the VIP list as well ;)

Coconut Oil

The HEALTHY fat, or what I like to cal "Brain Food," coconut oil  will help the absorption of curcumin in turmeric and help burn fat and increasing your metabolism. Its anti fungal and antimicrobial, which means it will help fight off viruses and bacteria.

Yeah that's right, this essential superfood drink builds the ultimate armor! Nothing will get in the way of you enjoying this beautiful weather. Nope, not on my watch!

Ingredients

  • 1 Lime
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp matcha
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • stevia to taste

DO IT YOURSELF

  1. Juice the lime and lemon into a large glass.

  2. Add the matcha and turmeric, along with some freshly ground pepper and combine well.

  3. Fill the glass with cold water and mix together well.

  4. Add the coconut oil and stir. The oil will separate and float on top, which is OK [don't be alarmed]. You can also use a hand held blender to help combine them better and make the mixture frothy and smooth [keep in mind, they will eventually separate again].

      5. Serve immediately!
